In the U.S., more than 40% of food is wasted. However, in the Hudson Valley, Marist Dining and FeedHV are working together to eliminate that waste. Since their partnership began in October 2019, Marist Dining has been proud to donate over 4,500 pounds of food to FeedHV, providing nearly 4,000 meals to the local community. The Marist Dining team was honored to receive an award from FeedHV for its community impact and continues to be thrilled to collaborate with an organization that works tirelessly to minimize food insecurity across the region. “It’s great to be recognized, but it’s even better knowing that food that would have otherwise gone to waste is going to food pantries, after school organizations and domestic abuse shelters,” said Marist Dining Executive Chef Jonathan Bohn. Marist Dining looks forward to many more years of food waste elimination, community service, and partnership with FeedHV.
