What motivates me to volunteer? The love in my heart for my fellow man; the knowledge that there are people in my community who need help; and the understanding that it is in my power to help them in this small way. I guess I have a very simplistic viewpoint which is: we are all in this together and time is very short. Doing volunteer work brings me joy, a feeling of accomplishment and peace in my heart. I always thought that I would like to volunteer in my community but I wasn't sure where my particular abilities would fit. Picking up donated food and transporting it to those in need is so easy. The way that FeedHV has set this process up is perfectly simple. If you see a way to fit it into your day it really works quite well. The people I meet on these runs are wonderful and I feel a connection to something very worthwhile.
